Consumers want to Find Recipes that are fast, easy, and nutritious

Consumers report that one of their biggest challenges when cooking is to find recipes that are fast, easy, and nutritious. More and more home cooks are turning to the internet to help them come up with new ideas about how to feed their families.

Food manufacturers already know that offering recipes is a great way to extend a brand name, attract new customers, and retain consumers who already purchase a product. To be competitive in the food market, retailers and food producers have to find ways of letting customers know that they are offering a nutritious and delicious product. The best way to do that is by teaching customers how they can use your product to feed their families.

This is where online recipe sites come in. More customers are turning to the internet to find recipes ideas for creating meals that their families will enjoy, and food producers can use this trend to their advantage by advertising on these sites.

There are three different types sites where you can find recipes ;

Dedicated Recipe Sites – these are websites that offer nothing but recipes and information about food. They are usually run by individuals who have an interest in cooking who post recipes and sometimes articles. The recipes are often contributed by the site owner and site users. Many of these sites do offer advertising space to food producers.

Recipe Search Engines – a number of different recipe search engines exist, providing users with a way to search for recipes by type, ingredient, or name. Consumers often use these sites when they are looking for a recipe for a certain item of food, such as “chicken recipes” or “pasta meals”.

Food Blogs - the home of dedicated foodies, food blogs are the preferred browsing for millions of cooks. Food blogs are often dedicated to a specific topic, ranging from at home gourmet cooking to cooking on a budget. These sites offer recipes, cooking tips, and even advice on which stores are offering sales that may interest readers.

Consumers have moved away from cookbooks as a source of recipe ideas and have become increasingly attracted to websites that offer thousands of new meal ideas. For advertisers, the use of food and recipes websites has created a unique advertising opportunity. Customers who visit recipe sites are looking for specific information about recipes. If you are a food manufacturer, these sites allow you to market directly to the people who are most likely to buy your products.

When advertising online, Gourmet Ads has a number of advertising options available. Apart from regular Display Advertising, we can undertake Over the Page Advertising, Background Advertising, Video Advertising or Interstitial Advertising to name just a few. The opportunities for online advertising through recipe sites and food blogs are limited only by your creativity. So if you want to reach consumers as they use the Web to Find Recipes, Request a Media Kit from our team.

Gourmet Ads is a Cooking Ad Network made up of Cooking and Recipe Sites

I was asked today by a kitchenware advertiser if Gourmet Ads was a Cooking Ad Network. The reason the advertiser was asking, was if we were a cooking ad network was because they planned to run advertising nearby online recipes. The kitchenware media buyer added that placements located nearby online recipes was essential because this is where they had been seeing the best conversions. Our observations over the past 12 months are similar.

So after that question I thought I might highlight some of the sorts of sites we’ve included in Gourmet Ads as to illustrate that we are a cooking ad network and that we run next to online recipes.

Sites that make up our Cooking Ad Network include;

Recipe Websites

User Generated Recipe Sites

Cooking Video Sites

Recipe Search Engines

Cooking Forums

Food Blogs

Apart from simply running beside recipes, the majority of the sites on the Gourmet Ads network can run beyond the banner campaigns including Floating Ads, Interstitial Ads and Over the Page to name just a few. These high profile, high impact creative advertising units provide unparamount engagement with targeted audiences.

Gourmet Ads can develop a bespoke media plan for your brand that’s not only cost effective but highly targeted to your audience. So if you’re looking for a Cooking Ad Network for your next campaign, then go no further.

Cooking Ad Network is a blog post from Gourmet Ads Food Advertising network, providing Display Advertising , Video Advertising and Supermarket Advertising solutions to reach the Grocery Buyer online.

50% of online users are looking for Recipes and Cooking Info Online

An interesting report from JupiterResearch called “Targeting Online Food Lovers — Identifying Segments and Online Advertising Opportunities,” reveals that 50% of online users are looking for food and cooking information online. Let me say that again – 50% of online users are looking for food and cooking information online.

Monique Levy of JupiterResearch noted that food fans typically are looking for the specific information found on food sites, rather than the more general food information found on health and wellness sites. “Online food lovers use food destination sites and manufacturer sites the most, rather than branded product sites and health- and lifestyle-related Websites,” Ms. Levy said.

This research shows that it’s not just foodies which use the internet to research recipes, but in actual fact it’s the wider internet audience who uses the internet as a resource for food information. This in turn means that advertising in and around recipes can have a huge effect at the supermarket checkout. One thing that the report also indicated was that people are not looking for cheap foods online, rather they are seeking information on gourmet or organic products.

So where does the half of the internet looks for food, recipes and cooking information online?

Well if you take a look at the sites within the Gourmet Ads network, they are typically;

Recipe Portals

Regional Recipe Sites – like Australian Recipes

Nich Food Sites – like New Orleans Cuisine

Food Blogs

Chef and Restaurant sites

Major food manufactures as well as food equipment companies understand that people search for recipes online. Which is why online savvy companies like Nestle and Kraft have developed and published a wide range of recipe and food content on their sites.

So with such a volume of consumers coming to food and recipes sites, it makes sense for food and food related companies to advertise online to reach these large audiences.

Recipes for 50% is a blog post from Gourmet Ads Food Advertising network, providing Display Advertising , Video Advertising and Supermarket Advertising solutions to reach the Grocery Buyer online.

Is your Brand Advertising on Foods Blogs

For the past few years, many food companies have been advertising on large recipe portals or recipe websites. Advertising with Gourmet Ads provides the ability to place your advertising on Food Blogs and Recipe websites. This is probably the best way to reach a truly targeted audience and certainly one of the most cost-effective ways to increase your sales.

Advertising on Foods Blogs hosts several other notable advantages over other advertising mediums, as well. For one thing, it is really easy to get your ad campaign started. You don’t have to hire expensive directors and actors or pay outrageous fees for photography (of course, you can if you want to). When you consider how long a customer is exposed to your Advertising on Foods Blogs as opposed to buying a 30 or 60 second spot on radio or TV, the cost is unbelievably inexpensive.

Food blogs tend to attract people who are really interested in cooking, we some times call them “Foodies”. Generally speaking this tends to be a highly targeted audience of people who are likely to purchase your food related product. Food Bloggers tend to be on the cutting edge and influential in marketing new food products and often lead trends, so these are the people you want to market new products and ideas to. Not to mention that if they like your product you are going to end up with some extra free advertising because they are highly likely to mention their experience with your product in their blog. Its the ultimate freebie for a food brand.

Getting your product advertised on food blogs also elevates your product’s image. Branding is everything when it comes to marketing food products and being viewed on a food blog does a lot more for your product’s image than a newspaper ad ever could. And since a blog reader is exposed to your ad for a longer period of time than a TV or radio ad, they are more likely to recognize your brand when they see it on a shelf full of competitors.

Advertising on Foods Blogs is Cost Effective and Ideal for a Product Launch

As Gourmet Ads represent some of the world’s best food blogs we can quickly and cost effectively launch your food product on a series of food blogs creating brand awareness and more importantly sales.

Advertising on Foods Blogs is a blog post from Gourmet Ads Food Advertising network, providing Display Advertising , Video Advertising and Supermarket Advertising solutions to reach the Grocery Buyer online.
