Advertising campaigns to increase sales for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day – a day where couples can lavish each other with affection and gifts and show each other how the truly feel. Now, many people will believe that these sentiments should be shown at all times of year, not just on Valentine’s Day. Well we say; why not capitalise on the fact that people want to buy presents for one another at this time of year?

Valentine’s Day is one of the most popular days in the ear for the exchanging of flowers, chocolates, teddy bears and other gifts and these sales of these products climb every year. Basing your advertising campaign around this day can help you see an increase in sales for products relevant to the day. Digital advertising in particular offers some of the best opportunities for Valentine’s Day themed advertising campaigns – this is ideal for chocolate companies and flower delivery services.

Traditionally, Valentine’s Day advertising has mainly been focused at men purchasing gifts for women, however, as times change so do trends in buying which is why many advertising campaigns are beginning to be aimed at the female demographic.

A Valentine’s Day advertising campaign is all about knowing which groups of customers to target. Studies have shown that, surprisingly, people that are most likely to receive the most Valentine gifts are teachers, children and mothers. Gourmet Ads can give you the ideal platform to aim your products at specific target audiences.

Everyone loves a Valentine’s Day deal, so whether your company sells flower deliveries, chocolates, or bottles of champagne, Gourmet Ads can help you place your advert so that it will reach your desired consumer.

Valentine’s Day deals range from chocolates and flowers to gourmet dining options

If you own a restaurant or hotel, deals might include discount prices for anyone attending your establishment on Valentine’s Day – free bottles of wine or desserts or perhaps something similar placed in a hotel room will sound appealing to anyone who wants to do something special for their loved one on Valentine’s Day.

This time of year doesn’t just have to revolve around going out for food. Couples love sentiment, and if someone wants to treat their loved one to something truly special on Valentine’s Day, they may consider an even or activity. Going to the theatre, sipping cocktails in a classy bar, or even kayaking or abseiling might make for the person present for the right people. Activities placed alongside various dining options could be the perfect valentine’s package for someone.

For all the lovers that want to cook a romantic meal for their partner, advertisers can use Gourmet Ads to promote “Meal for Two” deals at a discounted price. Gourmet Ads’ large network of sites means that packages such as this and other discount deals can reach your target customers and could potentially increase sales of specific products.

So use Gourmet Ads to offer great deals all in the name of Valentine’s Day and you will generate interest which ultimately means more sales.

We’re Exploring new RecipeBridge Opportunities

It’s now been a few weeks since Gourmet Ads acquired the Recipe Search Engine, see ‘Gourmet Ads Acquires RecipeBridge‘, and now the RecipeBridge opportunities are expanding. Since the acquisition, our development and design teams have been making a number of robust changes to the site, with dozens more to follow over the coming weeks. We’ve got a new logo (see above) and a brand new interface coming very soon.

So now the development schedule is locked in and underway, we’re interested in exploring opportunities with both food and wine brands around the world. Apart from just simply adding your brands and recipes to RecipeBridge (Submit your Recipe Website) for our audience to discover, we are keen to start having discussions about partnerships.

Ideas about partnerships might include;

Content & Integration type Partnerships

Co-branded Microsites & Landing Pages

Dedicated Pages for Food Brands

Grocery Coupons and Widgets

Dynamic Advertising Solutions

Powering Mobile Applications and Web Apps

Integrated Widgets

Finally, apart from the website, we are redeveloping the RecipeBridge Recipes API (Webservice) which we can use to power most of the offsite use of our recipe search data. So if you’re building a web application or mobile app, this is the easiest way to integrate our search results.

Contact Us for more RecipeBridge opportunities

So let’s start a conversation, Contact Us with your ideas and we’ll setup a time to chat and explore Recipebridge opportunities with you and your brand.

Increase Supermarket Sales with Recipe Advertising

Clever food manufacturers know that one of the best ways to sell their products is to increase the number of ways that customers use that product. Research tells us that consumers are always looking out for new cooking and recipe ideas, and consumers often head to the grocery store with new recipe ideas in hand. In fact, a study done by Baby Center showed that more than eighty percent of mothers use the internet specifically to find new recipe ideas.

The reason that recipe advertising works is that customers often turn to their favorite products when they need meal ideas. If you do a search of a popular auction site, you will see that shoppers are still buying recipe idea pamphlets and books that feature beloved product ideas that were printed decades ago. Food manufacturers can appeal to customers online using the same method that made product or brand specific recipes so appealing to shoppers years ago.

The secret to recipe advertising success is to consider the needs of your specific customer. Gourmet Ads has a very well defined, specific target audience that is made up of mothers and fathers who are the head cooks and grocery shoppers in their homes. They are often busy, working people who are looking for recipe ideas that will allow them to create healthy foods that their families will enjoy. Using recipe advertising, you can help these moms and dads create a meal that their family enjoys that includes one (or more) of your products. If your recipe idea is a hit, consumers will keep coming back for more recipe ideas, and more importantly, they will keep buying your product.

Recipe Advertising is the ideal way to reach Grocery Buyers

Recipe advertising isn’t just for staple items either! Many Gourmet Ads readers are very interested in cooking, and they are ready and waiting to try out the latest gourmet recipe ideas that you can provide. Recipe advertising is perfect for many manufacturers of specialty items, such as wine brands who provide a recipe that is perfectly paired with a particular type of wine. There are many different recipe advertising ideas, and finding the right one for your company takes just a little bit of creativity.

Gourmet Ads includes hundreds of sites that provide recipe ideas, placing your ads close or beside recipe. Apart from running an advertisement next to a recipe, advertisers can market an online coupon for your product, and then use our targeted marketing tools to reach out to an audience as small as a particular neighborhood or as large as several continents. Recipe advertising with Gourmet Ads can help you take sales to the next level.

For most households, Moms Make all the Meal Decisions

For most houses, moms are still the primary decision maker when it comes to which meals will be served to families. Mothers are spending more time developing healthy meal options for their families, and are looking for products and recipes that help them create healthy meals. Despite the hectic lifestyles of today’s family, mothers still see dinner as an important meal that is worth preparing special dishes for. Some of the following findings about mothers can help food manufacturers and retailers better market products to the primary shopper in the family. That aside, moms make the meal decisions.

Busy mothers often don’t have the time they need to be able to cook meals, and they worry about finding ways to create healthy meals that they can prepare quickly. A lack of time to devote to meal planning and preparation can make it more difficult to find time to create the healthy dinners that mothers want for their families. This means that manufacturers who offer time-saving recipes and products that are also nutritious will appeal directly to these shoppers. Food producers who create convenience foods that are healthier will also see increased patronage from these shoppers. Moms often carefully plan dinner in advance and look at factors including taste, value, and the amount of time they have to cook dinner along with health factors when they decide what to cook for dinner. However, when moms are in a rush, convenience wins out over other factors. Many moms surveyed said that they didn’t believe that foods that are both healthy and convenient exist.

Researchers in one study categorized moms into four different groups based on their behaviors in terms of shopping for, planning, and preparing meals. The personalities of these groups can point manufacturers in the right direction for marketing to moms. The four categories are broken down as:

Busy Moms – working moms are often driven to purchase foods primarily on the basis of convenience. Most purchases are related to what foods can be prepared quickly, although these moms are still concerned with nutrition.

Harried Moms – these are the extreme of the busy mom. They are often stressed out and prone to “emotional eating”. During less stressful times, these moms will look for what is convenient.

Sunny Moms - these moms are always looking for the newest and freshest foods. They look for price, but are also label readers. These moms are far less concerned with convenience, and spend more time creating meals.

Stable Moms – this group of moms does not necessarily enjoy creating elaborate meals, but they do look for healthy foods. Instead of basing decisions strictly on convenience, these moms look for a balance between convenience and nutrition.

Can Brands Influence Moms when they are making Meal Decisions for their family ?

By understanding the needs of consumers who make food purchasing decisions, food manufacturers can better tailor their products to customers. Creating products that are easy and fast to cook yet still nutritious is the best way to appeal to moms that purchase the majority of food items. Products that offer a convenient way to create healthy meals are a sure bet for many families. Is your brand connecting with the moms in the household that make all the Meal Decisions ?

Moms Make Meal Decisions is a blog post from Gourmet Ads Food Advertising network, providing Display Advertising , Video Advertising and Supermarket Advertising solutions to reach the Grocery Buyer online.

50% of online users are looking for Online Recipes

We recently wrote a blog called Recipes for 50% which talked about how some research by JupiterResearch which indicated that 50% of online users are looking for food and cooking information online. Since then we’ve been told about some research from Nielsen’s NetRatings, which like Jupiter has determined that the most popular food related activity online is searching for recipes. So I thought we’d go a little bit deeper into this trend and look at why consumers are heading online to search for recipes and how advertisers can reap the rewards of this trend.

So why are consumers moving online to find recipes? Well there is no doubt that consumers prefer to search and find recipes online opposed to ploughing through cookbooks to find a recipe.

Searching for Online Recipes is quick and easy, but other reasons include;
